An e-Course on creating a Family Environment.

Course Summary

This course is intended primarily for those responsible for designing and implementing center-wide policies and programs. It will cover concepts surrounding the campus environment as it pertains to helping children experience family–as much as is possible–in a residential program settings. Participants will be led to develop healthy policies and practices to make campuses as family-like.

Learning Goals

  • Understand the role of family in child development.
  • Understand the potential strengths and weaknesses of family structures in residential programs.
  • Become competent in developing policies for family-style care for residential programs.
