What We Do
Hope Institute works to improve the care of children growing up in orphanages around the world. We focus on improving areas of care that are most likely to equip children to thrive in adulthood, and to raise their own children in a stable, supportive family.
Too often, even well-established group homes have little or no support or access to relevant research and best practices. It is a foundational value of Hope Institute that knowledge and methodologies in the care of children growing up outside their families must be shared. We work hard to learn what children need, and to find out what works. We help centers identify gaps and navigate challenges, finding the paths that can change the futures of the kids in their care. And we strive to understand the larger child welfare landscape, advocating for changes, and building the capacity of all stakeholders to make child-focused decisions.
