Learning From Research
We are always learning. About children. About trauma. About care environments and development and relationships and how brains work. We spend a lot of time asking questions and seeking answers from the people currently conducting and publishing research on topics that matter most for children growing up in care systems. We know there is often a gap between research and practice, and we strive to bridge that gap through training.
Partnering In Research
We care a lot about kids who are growing up in orphanages, and we have a lot of questions. That’s why we’re eager to contribute to the knowledge base. Hope Institute partners with researchers, governments, and other NGOs to learn more about how to achieve the best possible outcomes for high-risk orphans and vulnerable children around the world.
Assessing Care At The Center Level
We believe that individual centers can experience sustainable progress when they have a deep understanding of how the care they provide impacts the current wellbeing and future success of the children in their care. Using a proprietary assessment tool, we work with centers to assess the strengths and weaknesses of their program. This tool helps us standardize assessment practices and track progress over time. And when it’s paired with outcomes tracking at the center level, it can help us see which practices are working and which might need to be changed.
